Announcements 2nd Nine weeksFirst semester will end Jan. 17. You should be on the 18th chapter in your books. All test, worksheets, and projects need to be finished by then. If you are on Nova Net, you should complete section A in your courses. Government and Econ students will switch January 18th to new subjects.
Course OutlineWe will be exploring the different aspects of human interactions. We will study past, present, and future activities through the study of history, government, economics, and world geography. We can solve many puzzles that confront our world on a daily basis through these studies. We will use several different tools to achieve our goal of learning. We will use Nova Net, Powerpoint, worksheets, crossword puzzles, and Sheppardsoftware to enhance our book work.
Our world is changing faster than it did leading up to World War ll. We are in a second recession, and as I write, the stock market has lost 2000 points in a week. Everyone who reads this description of the course has been affected by our governmet and its decisions in some form or fashion. Therefore, I can say that social studies is a MOST important subject. Events don't happen by accident. For every action, there is a reaction, and we will be studying these actions. We will disuss the events of 9/11 since this school year will mark the tenth anniversary. We will look at how that single event changed our whole world. |
